Scott has a depth of strategy, performance management, cost analysis and financial services experience. He focuses on clients with individual stock portfolios and the business and back office operations supporting the firm. His expertise includes business strategy, business finance, operational finance, and insurance and investment operations.
Scott was formerly an executive at United Services Automobile Association (USAA) in San Antonio; a small business owner; manager, Ernst & Young, LLP, Houston; and consultant, Coopers & Lybrand, LLP, Houston. In his last position with USAA, he was an executive in treasury and treasury operations.
Scott holds a certification in Strategy from Harvard Business School. He has a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in finance from the University of Texas, San Antonio, a Bachelors in Business Administration (BBA) with a concentration in Business Analysis and Management Information Systems from Texas A&M University. He also holds Series 66, 9 and 10 Securities License. Scott also holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) certification , administered by Investments & Wealth Institute and taught in conjunction with The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Scott used his talents and expertise outside the office serving various non-profit organizations. Scott current is on the Senior Pastor Relations Committee (SPRC) and the Leadership Committee at University Methodist Church. Scott also serves as a member of the Texas A&M Vice Chancellor’s Forum in an ambassador role dedicated to helping frame Texas A&M’s strategic priorities around constituent interest. Previously he has served on the Board at Boysville, Inc. and on the Board at Saint Mary’s Hall. In addition, Scott enjoys teaching youth and adult Sunday school/bible studies and volunteers at their church.
Spending time with family and friends is what Scott enjoys most. A self-proclaimed handyman, working around the house and on the family’s property in Hunt, Texas, keeps Scott busy. When he is not fixing or building something Scott, Stephanie and their two children, Bryce and Emily, hunt, ski, and hike. An avid reader Scott favors books about religion, history, and how to improve his ailing golf game. Recently, Scott has joined Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) to continue learning more about the Bible. In his free time, though finally out maneuvered as a volunteer youth coach for his kids’ sports teams, Scott leads the family tailgate efforts as they join friends in support of the Texas A&M Aggies.
